Faith That endures - Part 2

transcript: Then he tells us why:

“For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.”

Listen to that: when your faith is tested—not if. Testing is proof that your faith is alive.

And what grows in testing? Endurance.

In Greek, the word is hypomonē—it means steadfastness, the ability to stand strong under pressure without quitting.

This isn’t the kind of strength that comes from confidence in yourself—it’s the kind that comes from dependence on God.

Every trial that tests your faith is an invitation to go deeper, stand firmer, and walk more closely with God than you ever have before.

“So let it grow…”

Let it.

In other words—don’t resist the process. Don’t rush to escape the pressure, of your pain, Don’t shortcut what God is shaping.

Let it grow.

You can Let the tears fall today—but don’t let go of your faith.

Let the questions come—but stay in the presence of Jesus.

Let the process hurt—but let it grow something holy inside you.

Agter saying this, James finished it up wkth a promise:

“For when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

What happens after you go through pain, and practice? You strenghten your endurance.

James is saying—you won’t just survive this. You’ll come out of it stronger, steadier, and spiritually whole.

Because this is not the end of your pain, there will be more, but you will just continued to be stronger because you have already been into pain, and you have strenghten your endurance.

But Maybe you may be saying, I don't think I will ever be able to come out of this, but hey do you remember what James said before? You don't have to choose to live in pain, You can choose to let it go to Jesus, this does not mean avoid the pain? NO, it means to give it to God. Give it to God and ask help to help you move past your pain.

James is saying—you won’t just survive this. You’ll come out of it stronger, steadier, and spiritually whole.

“Perfect” here doesn’t mean flawless. It means mature. Rooted. Not easily shaken.

You’ll be the kind of believer who doesn’t panic when storms come, because you’ve been through storms before—and you’ve seen God’s hand hold you every time.

[Application: A Choice to Reframe]

Instead of praying, “God, please make this go away,” you need start praying “God, please make me strong enough to grow through this.”

Today, don’t fight the trial. Reframe it.

God isn’t punishing you—He’s preparing you.

He’s building you into someone who is complete. Full of peace. Steady in chaos. Rich in faith.

Let it grow.

[Prayer: Invite God into the Pain]

Dear Father, and friend in Heaven, Thank you for this day and. Thank you for teaching us How to face trials and tribulations in life.

I confess—it’s hard to see joy in trials

But I don’t want to waste this season.

Grow something in me that I can’t grow in comfort.

Teach me to see what You’re doing even when I don’t understand it.

Build my endurance. Strengthen my trust.

Make me complete. Rooted. Faithful.

I don’t just want to get through this—I want to grow through it.

So take my hand, go before me,

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
